COMMITTEE ON THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE

SUBJECT: Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People

ACTION ITEM #1: Do the members approve the revised Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People with the edits reflected as in the attached version which have been approved by the members of the Committee for the Protection of Children and Young People, the National Review Board, the Committee on Clergy, Consecrated Life and Vocations, the Committee on Canonical Affairs and Church Governance and General Counsel? 

VOTE: Two-thirds of the Conference membership

RESULTS: Passed (185-Yes, 5-No, 1-Abstain)


Action Item #2

COMMITTEE ON CULTURAL DIVERSITY IN THE CHURCH

SUBJECT: Statement on Asian and Pacific Islanders

ACTION ITEM #2: Do the members approve the formal statement Encountering Christ in Harmony: A Pastoral Response to our Asian and Pacific Island Brothers and Sisters?

VOTE: Two-thirds of the Conference membership

RESULTS: Passed  (187-Yes, 2-No,2 -Abstain)


Action Item #3

COMMITTEE ON DIVINE WORSHIP

SUBJECT: Proposed translation of the 2014-2016 Roman Missal and Liturgy of the Hours Supplement

ACTION ITEM #3: Do the Latin Church members approve the ICEL Gray Book translation of the 2014-2016 Roman Missal and Liturgy of the Hours Supplement for use in the dioceses of the United States?

VOTE: Two-thirds of the Latin Church members with subsequent confirmatioby the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments

RESULTS: Passed (177-Yes, 4-No, 2-Abstain)


Action Item #4

COMMITTEE ON DIVINE WORSHIP

SUBJECT: Proposed translation of the Liturgy of the Hours: Proper of Time

ACTION ITEM #4: Do the Latin Church members approve the ICEL Gray Book translation of the Liturgy of the Hours: Proper of Time for use in the dioceses of the United States?

VOTE: Majority of the members present and votingTwo-thirds of the Latin Church members with subsequent confirmatioby the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments

RESULTS: Passed (175-Yes, 6-No, 2-Abstain)

COMMITTEE ON DOCTRINE

SUBJECT: Text of Part Six of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services

ACTION ITEM #5: Do the members approve the revised text of Part Six of the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services?

VOTE: Majority of the members present and voting

RESULTS: Passed (183-Yes, 2-No, 2-Abstain)

Action Item #6

BISHOPS' WORKING GROUP ON FORMING CONSCIENCES FOR FAITHFUL CITIZENSHIP

SUBJECT: Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship

ACTION ITEM #6: Do the members authorize the production of two new and additional elements -- (1) a short letter to inspire prayer and action regarding public life, and (2) a short video and other secondary resources -- to complement, rather than revise or replace, the existing Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship and to apply the teaching of Pope Francis to our day?

VOTE: Majority of the members present and voting

RESULTS: (144-Yes, 41-No,2-Abstain)

*A motion to table this vote failed (61-Yes, 126-No, Abstain-1)
