- About USCCB
"The family, which is founded and given life by love, is a community of persons: of husband and wife, of parents and children, of relatives. Its first task is to live with fidelity the reality of communion in a constant effort to develop an authentic community of persons."
Pope John Paul II (1981) Apostolic Exhortation on the Family, #18

Catholic Marriage and Family Life Associations and Movements
The National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers (NACFLM) works with the U.S. bishops to implement initiatives on behalf of marriage and family life. It also has contact with many other Catholic associations and groups that promote marriage and family life.
In November 2004, the bishops began a multi-year, broadly-based effort to promote, preserve and protect marriage - understood both as a sacrament and a natural institution.
