Objectives
- To advise the bishops on matters related to the Catechism of the Catholic Church
- To review works that use the copyrighted text of the Catechism as to their consistency with the Catechism
- To oversee the use of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, especially in the revision of catechetical materials presently in use and in the development of new catechetical materials. This is accomplished by the review of catechetical materials voluntarily submitted to the Subcommittee on the Catechism as to their conformity with the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
- To monitor the feasibility and advisability of developing a national catechism/catechetical series
- To oversee the publication implementation of the national adult catechism
