Paul A. Lipetzky

Paul, from the St. Paul/Minneapolis Diocese, is a semi-retired businessman whose work involves the management of low income residential real estate. He is 57 years old. Married to Charlene, he is the father of four adult children, two men and two women, and a granddaughter age thirteen. Paul's youngest daughter is a freshman at the University of Minnesota.

Why is Paul Participating? I am riding because I love the Catholic Church. In spite of all its flaws I believe the Church has done more to promote human development than any institution in human history. The Church has a long and proud history of advocating for the poor, of teaching the call to social justice. The Campaign for Human Development is the national expression of the values and teachings which best represent our Church. By joining in this ride we can raise up and celebrate the work of our church through the CCHD.

I also love to cycle, to travel out-of-doors in touch with nature. To me it is particularly fitting that we make this journey by bicycle. We are not only advocating for the poor in our country, we are also advocating for good stewardship of the wonderful world we live in, for responsible use of the resources God has given us all. For me the ride is a celebration of God's many gifts to me in the form of my health and vitality and to our country in all its natural beauty, diversity and wealth.
