Ryan Hall

Ryan is a 24 year old social worker from the Diocese of Las Vegas. Ryan's family is his model of love. They accept him for who he is and whatever he chooses to do--even if they think he's crazy to ride his bike across the country!

Why is Ryan Participating?
Aside from the fact that Mary and LeeAnne both told me I should go, I am going on the tour partly out of selfish reasons and partly because it has potential to really influence people about the reality of poverty. For selfish reasons I want to do this for the adventure of seeing the world from a completely different point of view. At a slow pace you notice the flowers on the side of the road and you meet people you never would have met before. Poverty awareness is also exciting and an adventure because in my work I realize so many people do not understand causes of poverty. This is such an excellent way to get attention and get people to talk about the isues so that maybe we can become a catalyst for change. Who knows, 20 cyclists could change the world!
