Bryce Canyon, June 15

Day 15, Sunday
Bryce Canyon, Utah
Day 15! We've been pedaling for 14 days straight, and it's about time for a break, don't you think? So that's what we did today. We've been at Bryce Canyon National Park, sleeping in teepees for two nights while our bikes and bodies recover.
It's been a day of tending to bike maintenance and exploring a spectacular example of God's creation. Here, erosion is gradually eating away the edge of a Utah plateau, and the eroded edge is an intricate maze of canyons, spires, chimneys and hoodoos. Ha! That's a new word we learned today: and it's not the list of who's in charge of doing dinner each night. It's the rock formation created as two canyons gradually merge into one another over the ages.
We didn't do an education event today, but instead had a wonderful meditation on the journey of the Good Samaritan, presented by Susan. Tomorrow we will remember the parable as we pedal, then share our reflections on our journey in the light of the Samaritan's.
