The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) identifies and funds initiatives that institutionalize protecting children’s health and the environment from within our Catholic institutions. USCCB’s Environmental Justice Program (EJP) and its Office for Domestic Social Development (DSD) are the lead coordinators for CASE. As such, they support the development of individual CASE projects; promote the sharing of information among CASE members; and monitor legislative initiatives. DSD and EJP work in coordination with USSCB’s Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities and Government Liaison to ensure that children are protected from environmental health threats. DSD and EJP also promote education and advocacy around children’s environmental health among its social action networks.
