All Mine to Give -- Bright story of Scottish immigrants (Glynis Johns and Cameron Mitchell) pioneering in 1856 Wisconsin turns maudlin when both die, leaving their six youngsters faced with an orphanage unless the eldest can find a foster home for each by visiting their neighbors on Christmas Day. Director Allen Reisner details well the bond of love between parents and their growing brood amidst the harsh conditions of frontier life, but becomes increasingly morose as the orphans are parceled out in the downbeat, disheartening conclusion. A mixed bag of emotions for youngsters whose parents can help by discussing the movie's portrayal of family life, death and separation. (A-I) (br) (1958)

- L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
- O -- morally offensive.
** Discontinued classification. All archived movies that were originally in the A-IV category are now classified as L.
