Daisy Miller -- Good adaptation of the Henry James story about a rich American (Cloris Leachman) touring Europe with her spoiled son (James McMurty) and impetuous daughter (Cybill Shepard). Directed by Peter Bogdanovich, the slight story is a gentle probe of the American character, but what makes the movie so charming and absorbing is the director's care in visualizing the mannered style of a past age. (A-II) (G) 1974
