Daniel Boone -- Frontier adventure with the title woodsman (George O'Brien) leading a pioneer wagon train through the wilderness to settle in 1775 Kentucky, despite Indian raids led by white renegade Simon Girty (John Carradine) and greedy colonial officials (notably Ralph Forbes). Directed by David Howard, the melodrama is fairly routine, though the frontier re-creations have a rugged crediblity and the pioneer characters are quite colorful. Stylized violence. (A-I) (br) 1936

the Motion Picture Association of America rating, and a brief
synopsis of the movie.

- A-II -- adults and adolescents;
- A-III -- adults;
- A-IV**
- L -- limited adult audience, films whose problematic content many adults would find troubling. L replaces the previous classification, A-IV.
- O -- morally offensive.
** Discontinued classification. All archived movies that were originally in the A-IV category are now classified as L.
