The Wind Will Carry Us -- Slow-moving Iranian drama about an engineer (Behzad Dourani) and his crew who travel to a remote Kurdistan village hoping to clandestinely film a macabre mourning rite when a sick, elderly woman dies. Despite its sweeping visual grandeur and curious characters, writer-director Abbas Kiarostami's metaphoric film about life and death requires a serious commitment of attention on the part of the viewer to be appreciated. Subtitles. Mature themes. The U.S. Catholic Conference classification is A-II -- adults and adolescents. Not rated by the Motion Picture Association of America. 2000 (New Yorker Films)
