This Guide consists of lesson plans, handouts, supplementary activities, resources and retreats to prepare and aid teachers, catechists, and youth leaders in presenting Catholic social teaching on migration to their students (K-12).

Lesson Plans



These Lesson Plans are geared for students in grades K-12 in as a way to introduce material and generate student discussion and activity around migration themes. They are intended for teacher-use only.
Handouts



Handouts are directly related and assigned to each lesson plan. They are designed to be viewed by students either via the computer, via transparency or copied by the teacher for student use. (Where applicable, Teacher Answer Keys are accessible directly from the lesson plan.)

Supplementary Activities



Supplementary activities are designed to help teachers augment the lesson plans for particular grade levels.
Resources



These materials are designed to an overview of various topics related to migration and Catholic social teaching for teachers, catechists and senior high school-level students. There are links in the lesson plans to the appropriate resources.

Retreats



There are two retreats in this Guide. The first is designed to prepare teachers, catechists and parents for presenting curriculum. The other retreat is designed directly for youth at the senior high school level and can be used within a parish religious education / youth ministry program or in a Catholic high school setting.
