New American Bible (NAB)
Permission must be requested from the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) for each reproduction of NAB text (in print, sound, electronic, digital, or other form) regardless of the amount of text used. A copy of the manuscript with the Scripture selections highlighted and reference citations clearly marked should be sent to:

- All quotations must be verbatim from the text, including capitalization and punctuation. The poetic structure of some passages and books written in verse (for example, Psalms, Wisdom, Isaiah, etc.) must be preserved in verse as printed.
- It is preferred that publishers and authors quote from the 1991 or 1986 versions of the New American Bible, giving the appropriate copyright acknowledgment:

Written permission is required for such uses
- An unlimited amount of text may be used in a single issue of a newspaper or in radio or television programs. However, if these are later published in book or pamphlet form, or in a sound or video recording, the 4,000-word (10%) limit would apply and a license agreement would be necessary.
- Use of the NAB text beyond the prescribed limits requires a license agreement and payment of a permission fee. Information about the print run and list price of the publication should be provided along with the permission request.
Lectionary for Mass
One-time use (such as in a worship program for a special liturgy):
- No written permission is required for one-time use.
- The official liturgical text must be followed. All excerpts must be verbatim from the text, including capitalization and punctuation. The poetic structure of those readings written in verse (for example, Psalms, Wisdom, Isaiah, etc.) must be preserved in verse as printed.
- The appropriate acknowledgment must be printed either beneath the reading(s) or with the other acknowledgments:
