WASHINGTON—The For Your Marriage campaign has launched a new round of television and radio public service announcements with the theme, “A good marriage goes a long way.” The spots, which have been sent to approximately 1,600 television stations and 7,000 radio stations, feature real married couples answering questions such as “How many people does your marriage touch?” and “What’s the best thing about being married?

For Your Marriage is a major activity of the U.S. bishops’ priority to strengthen marriage and family.

The spots encourage couples to visit the popular and award-winning website www.foryourmarriage.org, as well as www.facebook.com/foryourmarriage and https://twitter.com/foryourmarriage for tips to strengthen and improve their marriages. Online resources include regularly updated articles, blogs and a Daily Marriage Tip. The first television spot, “Marriage Takes Teamwork,” can be viewed on the website. The radio spots are available for download at https://foryourmarriage.org/marriage-resources/for-parishes-and-press/multimedia-gallery/.

“This campaign highlights how the benefits of marriage go beyond the husband and wife, and in fact strengthen all of society, a message often lost in our culture,” said Bishop Kevin Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Indiana, chairman of the Committee on Laity, Marriage, Family Life and Youth of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops.

For Your Marriage is made possible through a grant from the Catholic Communication Campaign.

The campaign follows the successful 2007 PSA campaign that asked married couples, “What have you done for your marriage today?” The radio spots received 179,453 reported broadcasts and 438 million audience impressions. Television spots received 68,023 reported broadcasts and 700 million audience impressions. The For Your Marriage website has received 6,086,700 page views and 1,101,757 unique visitors since its launch and received first place Thoth award from the National Capital Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America in September 2011.
