Basilica to Host Closing Mass of the Fortnight for Freedom
July 4th at 12:10 p.m.

WASHINGTON - The Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception will host the Closing Mass of the Fortnight for Freedom on Wednesday, July 4, at 12:10 p.m. in the Basilica’s Great Upper Church.

His Eminence Donald Cardinal Wuerl, Archbishop of Washington, will be the principal celebrant of the Mass.His Excellency Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, OFM Cap., of Philadelphia will be the homilist. Apostolic Nuncio to the United States (Vatican Ambassador), His Excellency Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano, will concelebrate the Mass and deliver a message from His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI. The Mass will be broadcast live nationwide on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN).

The Closing Mass of the Fortnight for Freedom is free and open to the public.
