When there is difficulty in the life of the family or one of its members, one of the following prayers may be prayed at table or at bedside. At times, parents may pray these prayers silently for an older child.
Praised be God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation,
who comforts us in all our afflictions.
May God, the source of all patience and encouragement,
enable us to live in perfect harmony with one another
according to the spirit of Christ Jesus.
May the Lord make us overflow with love
for one another and for all.
May God strengthen our hearts.
God of all our days:
like a parent you forgive us,
and like a child you love us.
May we love and forgive one another.
