Changes for 2008
**Vigil Mass begins at 7:00 p.m. this year!!**
The National Prayer Vigil for Life will begin an hour earlier this year. Instead of 8 p.m., Opening Mass will begin at 7:00 p.m. The National Rosary for Life will then begin fifteen minutes earlier than usual, at 10:15 p.m. in the lower level Crypt Church. Confessions will begin one hour earlier, at 10 p.m., and end at midnight. Please note that for the first time in several years, the Vigil will be held from Monday night through Tuesday morning, instead of Sunday evening through Monday morning.
Federal Holiday
Monday, January 21, is Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, a federal holiday. Please check travel and hotel schedules and fees, and be aware that traffic patterns will change on this day. Be sure to check on any events going on in the greater D.C. area that might cause delays in your travel.
Seminarian Involvement-Holy Hours
Seminaries are encouraged to lead an hour of the Holy Hours for Life, held in the Crypt Church from midnight to 6 a.m. The holy hours are coordinated by Mount St. Mary's Seminary. For more information on 2008, please contact:

Concelebration
Bishops and priests are invited to concelebrate the Masses on January 21 and 22. Deacons are invited to vest and participate. All are asked to bring their own albs and stoles. Please notify the Shrine Liturgy Department of any participating clergy at 202-526-8300.

The Basilica and Catholic University’s Dufour Center are already fully booked the night of Jan. 21. Please be considerate of those sleeping in the Basilica’s Memorial Hall.
