Annual J. S. Paluch Vocation Seminar

SCHILLER PARK, IL (August 21-23, 2000) -- In preparation for the Third Continental Congress on Vocations to the
Ordained Ministry and Consecrated Life in North America, national and
regional vocation directors from the United States and Executive Committee
members from Canada met at the Rosemont Suites Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois,
a Chicago suburb, August 21-23, 2000, for the thirteenth annual vocation
seminar sponsored by the J. S. Paluch Company, Inc.
This year's seminar, entitled Sharing Our Vision: Preparing for the Third
Continental Congress on Vocations, provided information about the upcoming
continental congress, as well as the opportunity to work together and
exchange ideas for this exciting and challenging event. Rev. Edward J.
Burns, Executive Director of the Secretariat for Vocations and Priestly
Formation and American Co-Chair of the Executive Committee for the
continental congress, and Rev. Raymond Lafontaine, Canadian Co-Chair, served
as presenters and facilitators. Other guests from Canada included Sr. Cιcile
Gagnι, RHSJ, Director of the Vocation Center, Montreal, Quebec, and Mr.
Allan Calvert, Director of the Canada Council of Serra International.
Also participating the seminar were Mrs. Dorothy Foss, Executive Director of
the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation Directors (NCDVD); Sr.
Catherine Bertrand, SSND, Executive Director of the National Religious
Vocation Conference (NRVC); Sr. Diane Poplawski, OP, Executive Director of
National Coalition for Church Vocations (NCCV); Mr. Ed V. Verbeke, Executive
Director, USA Council, Serra International; the Executive Board of NCCV;
Rev. Eugene Hemrick, Director of Research, The Washington Theological Union;
board members and regional coordinators from the NCDVD and the NRVC;
vocation personnel from the Archdiocese of Chicago; Mrs. Margaret Paluch,
Chairman of the Board of J. S. Paluch; and the Advisory Board and staff
members of the National Vocations Awareness Division of
the J. S. Paluch Company.

event in association with the National Conference of Diocesan Vocation
Directors (NCDVD) and the National Religious Vocation Conference (NRVC).
