WeAreSaltandLight.org includes resources intended as a catalyst for both the New Evangelization and the continuing development of vibrant communities living the Gospel in the United States. Communities that strive to be salt and light share God's love with others, as we encounter Jesus Christ, through the Holy Spirit's transforming presence. Inspired by the Trinity's dynamic of community, we Pray Together, Reach Out Together, Learn Together, and Act Together.

Since 1993, the U.S. bishops' statement, Communities of Salt and Light: Reflections on the Social Mission of Parish, has served as a guiding document for parish social ministry in the United States. This website of the USCCB Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development uses this document as a lens through which to explore contemporary social ministry today and offers resources, best practices, and other materials to aid social ministry in a variety of settings.
