Beginning in 2006 the USCCB has participated in a bi-annual consultation and retreat with the Interfaith Committee of the World Sikh Council-America Region (WSC-AR). Since 2014 retreats have been coordinated with the Sikh Council for Interfaith Relations (SCIR).
The most recent retreat took place in September 2016, in Hyde Park, NY at the Focolare community’s Mariapolis Luminosa. The event focused on Sikh and Catholic approaches to cultivating peace in daily life. Retreat topics have included the nature of God, the spiritual teachings and practices of the two communities, and the nature of interreligious dialogue.
Dr. Anthony Cirelli staffs relations with the Sikh Council for Interfaith Relations (SCIR).
