Although its primary function is to support theological dialogues and carry out the bishops' work, the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs (SEIA) hosts and participates in special events, such as those listed below.

Generations of Faith
A day-long  program of interreligious dialogue for young adults and more
experienced participants

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
Annually observed in January, this is a week to engage in prayer and worship with fellow Christians

National Muslim-Catholic Plenary
A one-time event held in 2012 in Chicago, the plenary presented a chance for Muslim and Catholic leaders to engage in cordial dialogue and grow in mutual understanding
