Jubilee Holy Year 2025
Throughout 2025, the Catholic Church celebrates a yearlong "event of great spiritual, ecclesial, and social significance in the life of the Church." The Holy Year, under the theme of "Pilgrims of Hope," marks the 2,025-year anniversary of the Incarnation of the Lord. Catholics are encouraged to make pilgrimage during the year, either to Rome or to a sacred site within their local diocese/eparchy. The Holy Father has also marked special celebrations throughout 2025 for various needs and communities.
More information about the entire Jubilee Holy Year can be found on the USCCB website at https://www.usccb.org/committees/jubilee-2025.
FAQ on the 2025 Jubilee of Young People
Who are considered "young people"?
The Church has particularly invited young adults ages 18 to 35 for the Jubilee of Young People. However, as the Jubilee is open to the entire People of God, other age groups are welcome to celebrate, including teenagers and older adults, especially families of and those in pastoral ministry with young people.
How do I get to Rome?
Young people are asked to arrange their own pilgrimage experience, either through an organized group within a diocese, eparchy, parish, campus, movement, or apostolate, or on their own. Those who wish to actively participate in the Jubilee of Young People would register through a group or directly with the Vatican Dicastery for Evangelization, when the registration opens on November 25, 2024.
How much will it cost?
The basic registration packages for the Jubilee of Young People can be found on this information page. None of the packages include transportation to Rome, or any housing options beyond simple accommodations. These will either need to be arranged by the individual pilgrim or through a pilgrimage group coordinated by a diocese, eparchy, parish, campus, movement, or apostolate.
What if I cannot go to Rome?
The Church is encouraging local communities across the United States to celebrate young people in their own ways at some point around July 28 to August 3, 2025, in conjunction with the international events in Rome at that time. There may also be a "stateside celebration" in your diocese, eparchy, parish, campus, movement, or apostolate. Please check locally for opportunities to engage in the Jubilee celebration within or nearby your area.
