How can we implement Listen, Teach, Send?
The USCCB, with the generous support of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS), has been and will be hosting several regional workshops in (arch)dioceses across the country to unpack Listen, Teach, Send: A National Pastoral Framework for Ministries with Youth and with Young Adults.

October 9 & 10, 2025: Archdiocese of Los Angeles
This Regional Formation Event is for a variety of adults who minister to young people in different capacities.

This event is hosted by the Archdiocese of Los Angeles Youth Ministry Division with a cost: $70 (for both days – lunch is included)

October 10-12, 2025: Archdiocese of Atlanta
The audience for this retreat and workshop includes local parish leaders working with youth, collegians, and young adults, as well as those at the diocesan level, in religious communities, and within Catholic schools, institutions, and organizations.
Thanks to the generosity of Life Teen, this weekend will only cost $30 per person.

October 24 & 25, 2025: Archdiocese of Philadelphia
Taking place on October 24 & 25, 2025, this gathering centers around the theme Empowering Gen Now, emphasizing the urgent call to equip, inspire, and uplift today’s young people in their faith journey. Through dynamic discussions, interactive workshops, and collaborative networking, participants will explore practical strategies to engage youth and young adults, helping them grow spiritually and lead with confidence in their communities.
Whether you are a parish catechetical leader, educator, family ministry leader, or actively involved in youth ministry, this conference invites you to be part of a national movement that listens, teaches, and sends forth young disciples with renewed purpose.
When: 5:30 pm Friday, October 24-5:30 pm Saturday, October 25, 2025
Where: Cardinal O’Hara High School
Cost: $80/person and $40 for priests, deacons, and religious.
The fee includes materials, access to all the presentations, snacks, meals for both days (Friday night dinner. Saturday continental breakfast and lunch), and the Friday night Networking Reception.

January 23-24, 2026: Diocese of Birmingham (Alabama)
This two-day workshop program will be held Friday and Saturday, January 23-24, 2026, in the Diocese of Birmingham (Alabama). More details, including location, costs, housing information, and promotional materials, will be coming soon.
April 23-24, 2026: Archdiocese of Detroit
This two-day workshop program will be held Thursday and Friday, April 23-24, 2026, in the Archdiocese of Detroit. The location will be Sacred Heart Major Seminary. More details, including costs, housing information, and promotional materials, will be coming soon.
Past Workshops and Programs
April 7-8, 2025: Archdiocese of Indianapolis
The inaugural "Listen, Teach, Send" workshop was held Monday-Tuesday, April 7-8, 2025, at Marian University in Indianapolis, hosted by the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. The gathering, under the title "Exploring Implementation Strategies," was facilitated by Paul Jarzembowski and Dr. Julia Dezelski from the USCCB and emceed by Rachel Gilman from the Indianapolis Archdiocese. Archbishop Charles Thompson of Indianapolis began the gathering with an Opening Mass.
Monday, April 7: from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET
Tuesday, April 8: from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. ET
Marian University (Alumni Hall), 3200 Cold Spring Road, Indianapolis
Cost: $60 for both days (April 7-8) or $30 for one day (April 8 only); the event registration included workshop, meals, and resources; overnight accommodations were available at surrounding hotels, which offered special prices and proximity to Marian University.
Around 150 people attended, coming in from across Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Kentucky. The two-day USCCB-coordinated gathering was generously supported by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS), Marian University, St. Meinrad Young Adult Initiative and St. Meinrad Graduate Theology Program, and 4 Marks Printing.

September 15, 2025: Catholic Apostolate Center Webinar
This live interactive webinar from the Catholic Apostolate Center, facilitated by Paul Jarzembowski from the USCCB, was held on September 15, 2025, with a particular focus on "Listen, Teach, Send" from the perspective of ministry with young adults.

September 23, 2025: Archdiocese of Washington
On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Maria Parker and Dominic Lombardi from the USCCB facilitated a workshop at the Saint John Paul II National Shrine in Washington, DC, that invited pastoral leaders and families, in their engagement with young people, to imitate Jesus who listens attentively, teaches from the heart, and sends disciples into the world. This free workshop was made possible by the generous support of the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. It was open to all Region 4 Youth Ministry Leaders.

October 4, 2025: Diocese of Sacramento
Hosted at the Newman Catholic Center in Sacramento, CA, this workshop included Mass, a discussion of best practices, and Q&A.
About the National Catholic Committee on Scouting
The National Catholic Committee on Scouting (NCCS) is an organization officially related to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). It serves as an advisory committee to the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
NCCS provides guidance and structure for the integration of Catholic teaching into BSA programs at parishes and Catholic schools nationwide, recognizing that Catholic Scouting is a form of Youth Ministry. Guided by the USCCB’s Secretariat on the Laity and Family Life, it works closely with Catholic organizations, such as the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM), to provide faithful and useful Church-sanctioned programming and guidance to Catholic Scouting units.
