WASHINGTON—Sister Stephanie Still, PBVM, has been named director of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' (USCCB) National Religious Retirement Office (NRRO).
The appointment was made by Msgr. J. Brian Bransfield, USCCB General Secretary, and will take effect October 3. "I am confident that Sister Still's skills and background offers the NRRO well-established expertise that will complement and strengthen the office in service to the bishops," Msgr. Bransfield said.
Sister Still is a member of the Sisters of the Presentation, and she served as president of her order since 2010. Previously, she held positions within her community as communicator/vocations director 2004-2010 and councilor 1998-2004. Sister Still spent 11 years as a social studies teacher and director of marketing at Presentation High School in San Jose, California. She also served on the National Board of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious as Region XIV chair from 2013 to 2016.
Sister Still holds a bachelor's degree in History and a master's degree in Curriculum Design and Instructional Research from the University of California, Berkeley. She also earned a certificate in Spiritual Direction from the Mercy Retreat Center in Burlingame, California.
