Mass for the Care of Creation
On June 8, 2025, the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments promulgated the Latin formulary and Lectionary citations to be used in the Mass “For the Care of Creation.” The Holy See released the proper liturgical texts in Latin, and on August 4, 2026, the Dicastery confirmed the English and Spanish translations of those texts.
Roman Missal
In future reprints of the Roman Missal, the Mass "For the Care of Creation" will be inserted among the Masses and Prayers for Various Needs and Occasions as formulary 26A, between "For the Sanctification of Human Labor" (no. 26) and "At Seedtime" (no. 27). The USCCB Secretariat of Divine Worship has prepared free PDF downloads of the Mass formularies in English and Spanish to facilitate their use.
Entrance Antiphon
Ps 19 (18):2
The heavens declare the glory of God,
and the firmament proclaims the work of his hands.
Collect
God our Father,
who have called all things into being
in Christ, the firstborn of all creation,
grant, we pray, that, docile to the life-giving breath of your Spirit,
we may lovingly care for the works of your hands.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever.
Prayer over the Offerings
Receive, O Father,
these fruits of the earth and of our hands:
bring the work of your creation to perfection in them,
so that, transformed by the Holy Spirit,
they may become for us the food and drink of eternal life.
Through Christ our Lord.
Communion Antiphon
Ps 98 (97):3
All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
Prayer after Communion
May the Sacrament of unity which we have received, O Father,
increase communion with you and with our brothers and sisters,
so that, as we await new heavens and a new earth,
we may learn to live together in harmony with all creatures.
Through Christ our Lord.
