NEW YORK- - The 29th meeting of the Anglican-Roman Catholic dialogue in the United States (ARC-USA) took place last December 10-13 at the House of the Redeemer here. Episcopal Bishop Coadjutor Theodore Eastman of Maryland was the host. Archbishop John F. Whealon of Hartford attended his first meeting as the new Roman Catholic co-chairman of the dialogue.
In response to a request from the Second Anglican-Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC II), the New York meeting discussed issues which affect the expression of unity between the two churches, including the Roman Catholic recognition of Anglican orders and the Roman Catholic concept of Communicatio in Sacria (sharing in worship). Representatives of each church's national network of diocesan ecumenical officers suggested ways of expressing unity which are possible within the present disciplines of the two churches.
