Dr. Emilce Cuda - "Building Bridges by Organizing Hope" (Video and Text)

In Fratelli Tutti, Pope Francis exhorts, “We want to be a Church that serves, that leaves home and goes forth from its places of worship, goes forth from its sacristies, in order to accompany life, to sustain hope, to be the sign of unity… to build bridges, to break down walls, to sow seeds of reconciliation” (no. 276). In this plenary session, Dr. Emilce Cuda reflects on Pope Francis’ vision of “organizing hope” as an effective expression of the principle of Subsidiarity. Accordingly, we ought to listen to the challenges and hopes of our community, especially the poor and most vulnerable. Hope can make it possible to build bridges to create a just world.
Dr. Emilce Cuda, Secretary of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America at the Holy See, is a renowned international speaker who has co-led the efforts of building bridges of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America since 2021.
