Purpose: Upon completion of this lesson, students will have a deeper appreciation for: 1) the role and ministry of the Hierarchical Priesthood in the Catholic Church today; 2) the priest as a model of embracing the sufferings of Christ for the salvation of souls; and 3) suffering in their own lives as a means to their own salvation.
