In the fall of 2022, a group from the Loyola Jesuit Center in Morristown, NJ participated in an immersion experience to Bloom, a non-profit in Pennsylvania providing critical wrap-around services to women survivors of sex trafficking and sexual exploitation. In a room full of women who had survived sex trafficking, members heard stories of women who had experienced empowerment and rediscovery of their dignity. The JustFaith participants also learned that no home for trafficked women existed in their own community, that many of the women had to cross state lines to receive this kind of support, and that existing programs had long waiting lists for enrollment. The twelve members of the JustFaith group decided to put faith in action by working together to create a local home for women who are survivors of sex trafficking. All group members have played a role in fundraising, creating a website, connecting with partner organizations, and scouting sites for the future home. Soon, the new home will be registered as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Great job, JustFaith graduates!
