Bearing Witness: Life and Justice for All
Welcome to the 2020 Catholic Social Ministry Gathering, where more than 500 leaders, including bishops’ staff, representatives of religious orders and congregations, parish leaders, university and college faculty, students, and emerging Catholic leaders gather to witness to life and justice, gain knowledge and skills for ministry, connect with other leaders, build bridges, and advocate as one voice on Capitol Hill.
Inspired by their faith to pray, connect, learn and act on pressing domestic and global challenges affecting vulnerable and disenfranchised communities, Catholics attend this transformative Gathering to put their faith in action for the common good. For more than 30 years, this convening has offered opportunities to engage in intellectual, spiritual, and professional leadership development and formation to further resource and strengthen parishes, dioceses and communities across the U.S.
The theme this year is Bearing Witness: Life and Justice for All. The Gathering represents an important collaborative opportunity to bring together colleagues who work on issues impacting life and human dignity across the spectrum such as: capital punishment, human trafficking, family separation, incarceration, maternal and child health and many more. We hope this will be a chance to open our hearts and minds and create a space to work together towards the common good.
