Laudato Si' Advocates Program Applications

Laudato Si’ Advocates Program

The Laudato Si’ Advocates Program is an internship administered by the Environmental Justice Program in association with the National Religious Partnership for the Environment and Creatio. The vision of the program is to inspire a generation of Catholic leaders who promote integral ecology through advocacy and witness.

The Program equips college-age individuals with skills to advocate for legislation that promotes the integral ecology described in Laudato Si’. Advocates are encouraged to advocate for bipartisan federal policies and to promote “a better kind of politics, one truly at the service of the common good” (Fratelli tutti, no. 154).  Advocates earn a stipend, attend a training summit in Washington, D.C., receive monthly formation, and are given instruction in advocacy.

Applicants can now apply to one of two positions for the 2022-23 academic year: Laudato Si’ Advocate and Laudato Si’ Intern. Laudato Si’ Advocate applications are open to everyone.  Laudato Si’ Internship positions are only open if recommended by a diocesan or organizational director.

Laudato Si’ Interns are supervised jointly by the Laudato Si’ Advocates Program Manager and a diocesan/organizational director. If your diocese or organization is interested in hiring a Laudato Si’ Intern, please contact Sarah Carter at @email.

Interested individuals are encouraged to apply now! Applications received after June 1, 2022 will be considered on an as-needed basis. For more information, please contact Sarah Carter at @email.
