Life Matters: Persons with Disabilities
Persons with disabilities have the right to be respected and their lives welcomed and cherished. Although society has made progress in promoting the equality of persons with disabilities, their rights and their very lives may be at risk before and after birth. The words of Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI remind us of the "incomparable value" of every person and the individual and collective responsibility to treat persons with disabilities accordingly.
