Liturgical Calendar for the Dioceses of the United States of America
Each year the Secretariat of Divine Worship of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops publishes the Liturgical Calendar for the Dioceses of the United States of America. This calendar lists each day's celebration, rank, liturgical color, citations for the Lectionary for Mass, and Psalter cycle for the Liturgy of the Hours. It is primarily used by authors of ordines and other liturgical aids published to foster the celebration of the liturgy in our country, but may also be used by anyone who purchases or downloads a copy.
The calendar is based upon the General Roman Calendar, promulgated by Pope Saint Paul VI on February 14, 1969, subsequently amended by the Holy See, and the Proper Calendar for the Dioceses of the United States of America, approved by the USCCB and confirmed in 2010 by the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments.
(Both calendars are current as of May 2020, including the new Optional Memorials of Our Lady of Loreto and Saint Faustina Kowalska.)
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the process for ordering a copy of the 2022 calendar has changed until further notice. To order an electronic copy of the 2022 calendar, Contact Us, select "Divine Worship" as the office, and reference the 2022 Liturgical Calendar in your message, including the selection of either Microsoft Word or PDF format. Secretariat staff will reply as soon as possible with your requested copy and an invoice; please mail a check to the address given on the invoice (along with a copy of the invoice itself) to complete the order.
Orders for paperback copies of the 2021 and 2022 calendar are not being processed at this time, though future copies may be reserved. Follow the process above and indicate your preference for a future paperback copy of the 2022 Liturgical Calendar.
