World Youth Day has Ended

WYD Lisbon 2023 has ended as of the Commissioning Mass of August 6th.

 Celebrating the Feast of the Transfiguration, the light of WYD will now be shone home as pilgrims return.

Seoul, South Korea, has been announced as the host of World Youth Day 2027, making it the first in mainland Asia to be host.

WYD 2023 Is Underway!

World Youth Day has begun! From August 1st to August 6th, Lisbon will be packed full of events for pilgrims from all over the world to attend. July 31st marked the end of a series of events known as "Days in the Diocese", pilgrims who attended these events and pilgrims arriving for the week itself have now gathered in Lisbon in fraternity to celebrate all they have in common in Christ.

International Celebration

The United States will certainly have a presence at the international World Youth Day in Portugal.  This page will be updated with details on the U.S. involvement with and preparation for this global event.  In addition, we anticipate a number of stateside (at-home) WYD celebrations taking place across the USA. More details on those gatherings will be posted on this site.

United States Events at WYD Lisbon!

In addition to the international events hosted by WYD Lisbon, there are a number of events being put on by the United States delegation to WYD. Among these are a Holy Hour for all U.S. pilgrims on Wednesday, August 2, a Church open specifically for U.S. pilgrims throughout the week, and more!
